Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard is perfect for your HTPC, not your Wii (video)

Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard is perfect for your HTPC, not your Wii (video)

For HTPC owners looking for the perfect couch-borne computer keyboard, this Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard looks like Natuzzi nirvana, packing QWERTY (with function keys) and a touchpad all in a package that should fall to the hand more comfortably than that Scientific Atlanta remote your cable company has saddled you with. There’s even a laser pointer, making it a snap to indicate strange shapes and symbols seen on Lost episodes — or to taunt the cats when an episode’s fifteenth plot twist leaves you disinterested. We’re not sure exactly what Brando means when it says the thing has “iPhone style,” but despite that we’re liking it, and the $92 $49 price isn’t completely outrageous. YouTube video review embedded after the break for the doubters.

Update: A few bargain-hunting commenters pointed out that this is available for $48.99 over at TomTop. That’s savings you can count on, folks!

Fujitsu Esprimo Q1500 flexes Blu-ray muscle on video

The Esprimo Q1500, which might remind you of a Mac Mini, is back with the mischievous intent to show off the wares that Apple won’t let you have. Though we suspected the Intel CPU inside would be a CULV variant, it turns out to be no less than a 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo T9600 — and it got a good workout by the awesome Engadget Spanish crew, who ran a 720p video in Windows Media Player alongside a Blu-ray movie without any hiccups. The good news extends to the machine itself, which remained quiet in operation and cool to the touch a full 10 minutes into its mini torture test. If we said prices for the top config might be a little cheaper than expected, would you finally be excited? Video after the break.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Q700 Wants To Be Your Lounge Room’s Black Box [PCs]

The Q700 looks like a nettop, but has a little more balls thanks to a 2.5GHz Pentium Dual-Core E5200. Top specs include a TV tuner, HDMI, 4GB RAM, 1TB hard disk, and Intel GMA X4500 graphics. Prices start from $499.

About the size of a DVD player, the compact HTPC sits either horizontally or vertically (with stand), and has a metal liner to shield against electromagnetic radiation. Lenovo also says it’ll support 1080p.

On the front you’ll find a slot-loading DVD writer, four-in-one media card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro), four USB 2.0 ports, plus microphone and headphone jacks.

One the back: eSATA and HDMI connections (nice!), VGA, four further USB 2.0 ports, and a variety of audio connections, including S/PDIF-out. Ethernet is standard, while options include 802.11g Wi-Fi, the TV tuner, and various flavors of Windows Vista. [Lenovo via Nexus404]
