The IBM Model M, designed and built in 1984, is the best keyboard ever made. My Model M clone has been with me for 14 years now, and I finally cleaned it for the first time yesterday, and had to take pictures of the results. Now I wish I had take ‘before’ shots for reference, but there was dust, hair, residual oil, and just generally nasty stuff between all the keys. It now looks brand spanking new, and I’m in love with it again. So much so I was considering getting myself an actual IBM Model M to stash as a collector’s item. I think they’re going to be worth more in the coming years, when everyone realizes they’re no longer manufactured and are in short supply. Plus, they just don’t make them like they used to.
So fresh and so clean:
So clean it glows
Long live the Model M.
